Special Features of the Course

• Three core papers are devoted to the study of English literature at an Advanced level

• Four optional papers also deal with special areas of literature.

• Two of the papers are marked for Language Teaching Materials and Methodology which prepare the students to teach Literature as well as Functional and Communicative English.

• The students can also specialize in Business communication or take up Advanced Language Studies.

• The paper on Applied Linguistics provides a sound theoretical background to the course participants.

• The students are trained to offer special need-based English courses at various levels.

• Students receive extensive practice in the Language Laboratory and the Computer Laboratory of the Institute.

• Audio-video materials are used all the time for enhancing the students' language competence and teaching competence.

• The students are given training in preparing Technology Aided Language Learning Materials and Teaching Through Technology as per the Intel Teach To the Future Programme.
